Shon’s History
Shon was born on March 2, 1970, to Dwight and Mary Burchett. Shon has two older brothers Rodney and Todd Burchett; and one younger sister Juliet Boldin. He grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Shon was always in church every time the doors were open. At a very young age he felt the call of God on his life to preach and teach the gospel. As a teenager, Shon was very active in his youth group and saw many miracles and salvations under his teaching. He also has seen himself for many years preaching and teaching to thousands. Shon attended high school at Life Christian Academy and graduated in 1988. In 1992 Shon attended the University of Central Oklahoma and received his degree in Business and Computer Science. In 1995 Shon began to sense the time for the call of God to pastor was now. He was hired on staff with his father and began part-time as the Young Married’s pastor. It was not until March of 1998 that Shon stepped into full time ministry and took an Executive Pastor position at Life Christian to only later step into his father’s role and become the Lead Pastor.
Rachel’s History
Rachel was born on February 2, 1974, in Granite City Illinois, to Ray and Margaret Smith. Rachel has one older brother Jon Smith and two older sisters Becky Ferguson and Beth Lum. Rachel moved to Oklahoma City when she was six years old. She has been in church all of her life. In 1987 Rachel’s family began attending Life Christian Ministries, joined the church, and have been members ever since. Rachel attended high school at Life Christian Academy and graduated in 1992. She was accepted in to hair school at Moore-Norman Vo-tech and graduated in September of 1995. She went on to own her own successful salon.
Shon & Rachel Together
Shon and Rachel met at Life Christian Ministries and soon started dating. They where married on August 31, 1990 and soon after they had their first child, Danielle. They lived in a small trailer on food stamps for a few years while they worked and went to school. Attending church and serving God with their talents were a major part of their lives as a couple. Shon and Rachel grew in the Lord and started believing God for a better life. They bought their first house in March of 1996 and at that same time Shon accepted the position of Executive Pastor at Life Christian. Their first son Jared was born August 28, 1998. On May 3, 1999, everything they had prayed and believed for was lost in a tornado. Through it all they never compromised their faith. They knew God had something bigger planned for them. On July 12, 1999, God restored everything that was lost in the tornado and opened the doors for them to buy a bigger and better home. Three short years later, Shon and Rachel became the Lead Pastors. The birth of their second son Jaxson was July 15, 2003. Now Shon and Rachel are passionate people who live to help other people overcome the trials, troubles, and problems of life to be a successful Christ-follower!!
